Can you believe this?
During the three days set for our Second Annual Parent March on Washington (postponed because of the pandemic), violent protesters were instead setting fires and confronting police lines in front of the White House as President Trump was reportedly rushed to an underground bunker.
In the Lafayette Square Park last night where our first peaceful march began one year ago under police escort, fires were ignited and uncontrolled protests raged. As a civil rights attorney I warned of this possibility in reports, lobby efforts and precedent litigation over the past ten years. I afforded government abuse victims the hope of justice through constructive channels.
But they censored, suppressed and persecuted my public message through a retaliatory destruction of my liberties and reputation as a judicial whistleblower. And like my counterpart civil rights attorneys in China who warned of the coronavirus, we are all now paying the price of arrogant politicians who ignored us.
Welcome to 2020 and a world we can barely recognize. In 2010 I asked the Justice Department to investigate civil rights atrocities in upstate New York. In 2013, I testified before Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Moreland Commission on Public Corruption. In 2015 I addressed national media at the funeral of Walter Scott, an African-American father shot dead five times unarmed while fleeing a child support warrant at a traffic stop.
Two months later I issued one of many reports to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch (who also testified at the Moreland Commission prior to her elevation to the top spot by then president Barack Obama). In that report I predicted that the carnage would continue with me as a target only to be proven correct again by a secret “shoot on sight” warrant three years later.
During our Parent March on Washington, victimized parents of family court from around the country delivered over 600 of my reports to all members of Congress containing warnings of what was to come. All these reports and reform efforts before both Democrat and Republican administrations were ignored.
And now, as a consequence, they have no idea how to respond to the nationwide carnage among protests everywhere in response to the George Floyd murder on May 25, 2020. Yeah the predictions and outcome are eerie in view of all that. Equally eerie are the locations where we protested so peacefully and properly under our First Amendment one year ago.
When you ignore the people, you pay the price, and now it is our duty to stop the plundering and lawlessness of those who have no true principle to their purpose. Sadly this is not something we should have to do, but when law enforcement is overwhelmed as they are today, that is our duty as Americans.
Tonight at our regular Monday conference call, we will re-trace the steps of our march last year and discuss ways to assist authorities in a peaceful resolution of this latest crisis. You can review of our last three lively conference calls on this website, http://www.leonkoziol.com, with prior guests, Attorney Lawrence DeMarco, Gabriella Boyd Foundation and Dr. Martha Link M.D.
But the upcoming ones prove to be even more exciting. Spread the word, these calls are free, open to all, highly informative and a public service of the Parenting Rights Institute. Our guest tonight is a court reform advocate, former Republican candidate against Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and a professor of finance at St. John’s University with a PhD from Yale and degree from MIT.
At 7pm ET tonight (Monday 5/1) call (605) 313-4427; access# 583326. After casual talk among early participants, we will begin with my introduction, a 20-30 minute presentation followed by questions from callers and then an open exchange.
